Yes you can. Just be careful opening the sodastream once you've gassed it, I did it with some TC once and covered the whole kitchen in foaming TC.hairybiker said:Hmm wonder if I could force carbonate using my old sodastream? I some WOW that is in a 2L bottle and has been in the fridge for a week so should be about 3-4deg C. (Up top of a beer fridge) so may try a 1/4l in a bottle.

Sorry, no, you can make some decent rosés but not a full-bodied red.topgear said:can anyone recommend a supermarket juice (red) wine other than strawberry ribena?
hi moley am i right in thinking if i make 5 gal of wow to your recipe and finish in a corni, i just times all the quanitys by 5??? what about the yeast etc :hmm:Moley said:Sorry, I cheat - ferment out, stabilise, fine, filter, back-sweeten, force carbonate in a Corny, occasionally bottle some off for Mother-in-law, but mostly it's on draught.
I think I'm right in saying that Welch's Purple is pressed from Concord grapes, which have a bit more âoomphâ than most dessert grapes but are towards the inferior end of the wine grape varieties.sueelleker said:I prefer Welch's Purple grape Juice for reds- it seems a little less 'thin' to me.
Most supermarket juices are long-dated because they have been pasteurised and there's little or no air in the cartons. It always pays to read the ingredients labelling but the ones you've got to watch out for are the âjuice drinksâ.sueelleker said:Watch out if you buy the long-life, I've heard it has preservatives in it.
Mate, it still catches even me out.....the 5gal batch I started last week behaved it's self for about 3 days and then erupted all over the heat tray and kitchen floor :lol:topgear said:thanks moley for the recipe help (you left out the bit that says caution you are making a orange fiz bomb!!!!! lol

Moley said:Correct, 5 litres grape juice, 5 litres orange juice, 5 tsps pectolase, etc.
The only thing you don't scale up is the yeast, if using packets then one sachet is good for up to 5 gallons, and if using a yeast compound out of a tub, 2 heaped tsps is plenty.
PS: It's not my recipe, I just seem to have become the ambassador on this forum, although Wurzel does visit occasionally.
PPS: If you're working in sensible quantities like 5 gallons, here's my FPW (Fruity Pink Wurzel):
3 litres white grape juice
2 litres red grape juice
3 litres orange juice
2 litres cranberry juice drink
4kg sugar
5 tsps pectolase
25ml glycerine
2.5 tsps tannin or 5 ordinary tea bags
10 Twining's Raspberry, Strawberry & Loganberry fruity âtea bagsâ.
Yeast & nutrient
Tea bags get infused for 10 minutes in a litre of boiling water, twice.
