I saw this recipe on the winesathome forum the other day. It's kind of a WOW mead.

Recipe for 1 gallon was

1l Red Grape Juice
900g (2 jars) Asda Smart Price Honey
1 tsp Pectolase
Yeast/ nutrient per instructions.
Water to 4.5l

The brewer said "It has to be one of the simplest recipes ever and has a really nice flavour...!

Whilst it was unintentionally fizzy, I thought it was cracking and will be making some more very soon!

Be sure to sulphite AND stabilize before bottling to avoid that sneaky honey slowly fermenting in the bottle!"

He left it for a year and said it was great.

I haven't done it yet but am hoping to in the next few weeks. I'll post my results... when i get some.

Sounds simple enough. Im going to have a crack at this one this weekend. Have you started yours yet?

Has anyone tried making this one on this forum? Im looking for a mead recipe. New to brewing so would like a simple one.

Tesco have an offer on Welch's purple grape juice (65% US concord grape).....99p/ltr instead of £2:50 at asda and £2:80 at sainburys) Have accumulated 8ltrs so far...(they are limiting what they put out)...need 9ltrs and will do a similar recipe 9ltrs Welchs purple plus 8.5lbs honey (spanish orange blossom) for a 19ltr batch. It's meant to taste good...and have a purple colour. Need to sneak in a vanilla porter brew tomorrow, but the concord pyment is next...will keep you informed of how it turns out.
