Fully expected England to romp in, have to agree they played for a draw.
I knew they were going to give us a tough game and am amazed at Southgate's team choice and substitutions, if we don't get to the semi-finals he has to go.

These are the odds to win -

With such a big goal cushion i hope this is not going to be a boring game.

Put our marker down again. Wales were poor but they were despatched professionally. It’s an open competition and whilst France and Brazil may have the edge we are there with a few others not far behind them. Wales were poor again though.

@BBCSport
Japan take the lead against Spain!
VAR deemed that the ball *didn't* go out of play.
As things stand, Japan will go through and Germany are going home!

FULL-TIME

Japan 2-1 Spain
That's it!
All over! Japan have held on to an amazing victory and they are through to the last 16! Spain will be joining them as things stand.
The Japanese substitutes rush onto the pitch. An incredible performance.

Apparently it doesn't matter if the bottom of the ball is outside the line (as it clearly is here from the side-on view). They look from directly above, and if any part of the perimeter of the ball is inside the pitch the ball is deemed to be 'in'.

(Not an expert by any means but that is what is being said here in the WC news comments section)...

[Edit] Thus...
