If you set this off on the 15th and bottled it today 23rd then it is a bit too early. Realy needs at least 10 days in th FV. YOU DIDNT SAY WHAT THE FINAL GRAVITY WAS??????????. Wherrys are prone to stick at 1.20 if you have bottled MUCH above 1.006 and primed you could end up with at best beer so fizzy you have to pour into a big jug first or even worse BOTTLE BOMBS.

just started a 40 pint kit of woodforde's norfork ales, norfork wherry best bitter. :thumb:
Because i've no woodforde's best bitter left to :drink: :(
I will be back on the EDME lager on friday

Hello JustBri,

I'm just conditioning my first brew which is also a Wherry bitter, i kegged mine after 6 days with a SG of 1040 down to 1012. The fermentation was very active from say 12hrs up to 36hrs and then seemed to settle right down with very little activity ( don't know whether that is normal for a Wherry bitter? ) , anyway it's been 13 days since i kegged it, and have already taken a few sample's for ( QC puposes of course ) and each time it has improved. :thumb:

I've just started my second brew which is a Young's Definitive one can kit, although i'm not expecting great things with this one, but thought it's cheap so i'll give it a go. :drink:

I've just done the Woodfords Admiral Nelson kit. Went from 1041 to 1013 and it's been in the keg for 1 month as of today - just over the past week of that has been refrigerated. It's a great tasting beer but mine's suffering from significant chill haze. Not sure what people here mean by "forever" to clear - a month not enough? It's also a top tapping keg so I would have thought it should have been decent by now.

I also know what you mean about the strength - at 4.2 ish percent, it shouldn't be doing what it does. Couple of pints and it's like being drugged - god knows what I've managed to brew up, nothing nasty I hope!

had the mates over for a session on the wherry, and all i can say is what a lovely drop, i will be trying some of their other kits, its a lively one mind, very heady, have to decant into a jug then pour on,, the og worked out at around 4.2%, and that suits me fine...

cheers

JB

a quick question about my wherry, as usual i primed my bottles, with about a third of a teaspoon of sugar, the head is bloody huge, has anyone else had this problem, and is the priming needed with this kind of kit?

cheers
