I use a pulley system to lift the mash bag out of the mash tun - whilst sparging and to let it drain

I attach the handles on the mash bag to the pulleys by use of an old wooden coat hanger

Messing about as I was - I managed to drop the coat hanger into the boil without noticing

I may have invented a new brewing innovation

What do you think?

Well if it’s good enough for them...

Pulley system is a good idea. Most of mine the hook will pull out lifting that much. Maybe yours did too.

No - I would be OK about it if the coat hanger had just failed - it is still intact

I was just messing about with the pulley system when the (intact) coat hanger fell in, even worse I did not know until I emptied the boiler

Thanks for trying to make me look like I know what I am doing :?:

I have had a shirt in my fermenter! Years ago I used to ferment in the bedroom. My wife had washed and ironed my shirt, walked all the way from the laundry to the bedroom, and hung the shirt, complete with hanger, (wire) on the wardrobe door.
When I mentioned that she had washed, ironed, put shirt on a hanger, walked all the way from the laundry to the bedroom, the least she could do was open the wardrobe door and hang the shirt on the rail. For some reason she decided the best place for the shirt was in one of the fermenters.:?:

You need broader shoulders.

I'll get my coat.
