WLP4627 Funktown Pale Ale

Hello you fine folks you,

Has anyone got an idea of the alcohol tolerance of WLP4627 Funktown Pale Ale?

I'm thinking of using it for and imperial IPA, but want to make sure it'll handle 8%-10% ABV.

I had a quick google and then thought "what's the point of being a member of a forum if I don't use it?".

I read about it*, isn't it part Belgian? Not a proper Brett? Ought to tip the 8% with relative ease, you could always finish off with a clean champagne yeast (KV1116 from the top of my head).

I've currently got my first IIPA underway. I've tasted it prior to dry hopping and it's good, but I'd like to accentuate the fruit hops a bit more.

I'll have to redo it as it's at 9% already and I'd like to get it correct next time.

I was initially drawn to the Vermont strain, but I saw this whilst browsing the Yeastbay site and it intrigued me.

It all came from this chap (http://brulosophy.com/2015/02/02/hippie-heaven-vs-surfer-sanctuary-exbeeriment-results/) replacing his usual "Hop forward" strain with the Vermont yeast.

Brulosophy is indeed worth following (though their statistics are sometimes... a tad overrated). But good reads nevertheless.

Anyway, interested in hearing from the others here if they have specific experience: >6% is not quite my forte and the yeast is not available in the Benelux afaics.
