Landlord.
Belgian beer drinkers (connoisseurs of Belgian beer, not Belgians per se) are like those who prefer afternoon tea to going for a curry. No comparison! You might compare tripel-swillers with the dodgy old geezers who sup barley wine, if there are any left of that Ilk. I've never met a Belgian, or a Frenchman, for that matter, or a Dutchman, who has spent any time in England who doesn't love English beer. And I get plenty of visitors to our holiday cottage from those lands.Note how different the approach is to when you are in Belgium and some of those "old brown pubs" sampling some superb tripels. The etiquette on the continent is to consider any form of public drunkeness as so beneath contempt. Lager louts here are a UK disease that creates havoc in Spain, but what do I know
Do we still have lager louts? I suppose you can find them in I-beefa, but I didn't see any in Madrid.
