White wine / Prosecco coming out of keg as foam?

Ah, to fully explain, we are hosting a cocktail party next weekend and one of the drinks we’ll be making is Passionfruit Martini which is served with a shot of sparkling wine. It means that once the bottle is opened it will all be served pretty quickly and, if it works, save me a small fortune on Prosecco 🍻.

This is actually an excellent idea, please keep us updated on how you get along as this might be a method which I use going forward.

Would recommend at least 60 psi if you want it to taste like Prosecco.
 
I have a tap on my kegerator dedicated to fizzy wine, I had the fizzing issue to start with then I put a step down in the line to 3/16, roughly about 2m and there's probably about 1/4 a meter of 3/8 left on either side. Its basically a deluxe party tap line set up from TMM I had spare.

I carb it up slowly in a fridge, so about a week with 30psi of co2 on it. Then move to the kegerator where is pushed out with mixed gas roughly about 20psi and through a flow control tap and it works fine.

I do a similar thing with the kegs of tonic water I make.

I’ve no doubt at all that you could totally serve sparkling wine from a keg at 30 psi, the problems start when you get into the 50-60 psi range which is really the bare minimum imo for a real sparkling wine or Prosecco experience.

At 60psi I tried everything from 5 foot of 3/16 all the way to 50 foot of 3/16 hose and it was always pure foam.

How did you find the wine at 30 psi? Just sounds very low… I bottled some from a keg at 40 psi and I even found that to be lacking in carbonation compared to what you would get from a bottle of Prosecco.

There's been no complaints from my wife who is the one that drinks it, and she does tend to have a glass most days and then open bottles of the real thing at the weekend, so she is pretty familiar with it.
 
What's your preferred kits for sparkling wine?
Done a few, On The House Pinot Grigio was good, then Winexpert Classic Pinot Grigio was really nice, but the one my wife seems to like most is the last one I did which was SG Wines Platinum Pinot Grigio.

This is actually so true.. the cheaper kits really do make a better sparkling wine from my experience.

My favourites have also been the SG white kits and the MYO range white wine kits (without the oak chips).
