The film looks great but for me boring as hell and Ryan O’Neal was miscast.

He's miscast in everything.
He's in a 'Bridge to Far.'
I lose the will to live everytime he's on screen.

Barry Lydon is a stunning looking movie.
I can't stand Ryan O'Neal, he is such a wooden actor I get splinters in my eyes watching him.

He was certainly very dull in it but I suspected that was somewhat intentional, a blank slate central character where things just happen around him. Or maybe he's just a terrible actor

Watched Kajaki this afternoon with my 16 yr old son after recommendations from this thread, here's his review, much better than I am at this sort of thing.

One of my favorite films from a while back was 'God Bless America'. If you don't like a lot of reality TV shows, then this is a movie you should definitely consider! Very funny and entertaining. It's one of those movies that make you smile :) I thought I'd hate it but loved it

I watched “The Fundamentals of Caring” on Netflix last night. Really enjoyed it. The carer (Paul Rudd) of a young man with Muscular Distrophy takes him on a road trip to see some of the worst roadside tourist attractions in America whilst his mother is away for the week with work.

It’s sort of a coming-of-age film but there’s depth to all the characters. Has that semi-indie atmosphere that films like Little Miss Sunshine have - it’s funny, heartwarming, has good characters and a good cast (despite one of the worst English accents committed to film)


We also watched “Flora & Ulysses” on Disney+ with the kids yesterday teatime and they loved it.

Anybody made the mistake of watching ‘Machete’ starring Danny Trejo? Some big names on the cast (De Niro, Michelle Rodregiuz and some not so - Seagal and Lindsay Lohan) but what a load of tripe. Really poor knock-off of Kill Bill style fight scenes, dodgy 80’s style porno music (Im reliably informed...) for every gratuitous nude scene and the loosest plot going. It’s supposed to be a comedy, but its comedically bad!
I’ve watched some sh1te in my time but Machete really scrapes the bottom of the barrel. As you can probably guess, I wouldnt recommend!

Can you explain how Michelle Rodrigeuz got shot in the eye but managed to show up in the big final shoot off at the end? Asking for friend! not that that bit was a particular complaint. She’s lovely!

I think I enjoyed the weirdness.
I also like the thing that all the protaginists were hispanic and the bad guys were anglo's.
