I'm hoping to use poly pins for my beer and wine.

Where online should I get them from?

Also what size do people go with? I'm brewing 20L at a time and drink maybe one pint a night on average... I do have space under the stairs to store quite a bit of beer and a spare fridge for a couple of cool ones. I'm thinking 10 & 20L ones would be handy... But would they go off before I finished one?

I found the one I got from Hook Norton brewery very agreeable. It came complete with 20l of Hooky Gold and a good crop of fresh yeast at the bottom...

£6.50 for a 5L pin is a bit more than I was expecting for a plastic bag :P

10 x 10L bags with boxes from the above works out at £39posted, im unsure if they will take any pressure / condition like the polypins do. much cheaper without the boxes, but I think they would be a bit wobbly without

But that is tempting, I think I would need seperate taps for a beer engine once I find one locally.

Many thanks for your enquiry, I don't have personal experience of conditioning in bags but I know of a number of breweries who sucessfully accomplish this. Clearly they all have their own methods but essentially they follow this procedure. Fill bag in the box, do not replace the tap, add priming solution, replace the tap but only put halfway in to the first click stop (easy once you have done one) then condition at 12C approx. and every few days or a week or so release the excess CO2 that has built up by pulling the tap out pushing down on the gas pillow & replacing the tap halfway home. Then once you re ready to serve, push the tap fully home, close the box with tape, etc. and move to serving position to settle. All of our prices can be found at http://www.baginboxonline.co.uk/buyit.html Please phone your order thru' as small mixed orders incur a penalty online doubling the P&P costs. I hope this helps

I've dropped them an e-mail to ask if they are re-usable... and also found a local microbrewery which use them, so I may be able to drop by and have a look / buy a couple from them

Can the bag in a box ones be reused? As far as I know the Murphy ones can be used several times.

Some of mine are probably at least 5 years old.

Most of mine have come from a local home brew shop. Might renew some soon and try Murphy's.
So yours are neither Murphy's nor bag in a box? :wha:

No but much the same as Murphy's, the one's I've used for years are the same as the ones you get if you buy them full of beer from a brewery.
