Pretty new to 'all grain' and just got a new electrim boiler.
Just testing it and as far as I can tell it appears to take about 1/2 hour to hear wort from mash temp up to boiling point.
Should I start timing the boil from when it actually starts to boil or from earlier??
Sorry if this is a dumb question

I would agree with Marty, once you have controlled the initial boil and have stirred in the proteins, added the hops then start your timer when it's able to be left alone.

As all above and just make sure you have a rolling boil then start your timer when adding bittering hops as this will control your hop schedule timings and if no bittering hops required start when boil is rolling.
