A thought popped into my head yesterday regarding Wheat Beer. Do people make it because they a closet cider drinkers or because they cannot brew a nice clear bright pint?

I don't think wheat beer resembles cider at all.

I like a Belgian wheat beer - I love the taste of it. I'm toying with brewing some, but not sure if I fancy 40 pints of the stuff. Unless I just shove it in the garage and pull it out when I fancy one, but then it'll have to last for years.

I also like a German Weiss beer too though.

But then again, I like everything. For my 40th, some friends bought me bottles of real ale where the first letter of the beer spelt my name out. I have a photo somewhere.

Hmm i sense this topic may be a trap but anyway...

its cheap to make (what i use my recycled dry hops for)
its fast to make and drink
its easy to make BIAB as no stuck sparges
its easy to add complexity/fun with decoction
its easy to drink
its amazing to see what flavours yeasts can make

AND its not cider
(dont want bacteria in my beers- atm anyway)

besides its like banana caramel beer juice, whats not to like

I brew it because it can be drunk while relatively young and because I'm an impatient bugger!
