All done mostly , wort chiller nearly finished , wort is 19c at mo , should be able to get down to 16c (12c is wanted but won't get ) then i'll get an SG , estimated should be 23l at 1049 , can already see a richer darker colour , just what i wanted (without decoction my beer is very pale )
 
How do you control the temperatures in your mash tun Pittsy? Does it have its own heat source? Also, do you have a crazy gadget to chill your wort down that low? I can never get much lower than 25C with my standard chiller.
 
Done , OG is 1052 and 23l collected my eff has gone up to 75% again :D should give me approx 5% vol ,
Hi, Goatreich i infuse hot water to reach my temps untill i have my required water amount then temp is risen with decoction , and chilling you should be able to get a few degrees above tap water temp if you have a long enough chiller , mine is approx 8m long . Right now off to the mrs house then pub and grub
