Lots of hops have descriptions of "citrus" and "grapefruit", but which ones are the most orangey flavours? Anyone used those Bavaria Mandarina (?) hops, I know that mandarin and not orange before anyone get too arsey

I know this doesn't directly answer your question but you could use some citrus hops with orange peel..

When I made a Witbier it used orange peel and coriander seeds which really give off that flavour finish..

It is far from unusual to put peel in the last 5 -10 mins of the boil.

Yeah, I'm doing an orange and coriander wheat beer either tomorrow night or Saturday morning, but I really love orangey flavours so wondered where else to get those notes from to incorporate into future pales.

A local brewing company that I know - Newcastle Brewing- make a Satsuma IPA with mandarina bavaria hops from Geterbrewerd. You can really taste the satsuma/mandarin flavour in it!
Give it a go they are cheap enough.

Aaah, I used to know Mike and Leo in the past, I might hit them up for some recipe tips.

I made a Cream Ale with Hallertau Mittlefruh at 0 mins and I get Orange from it. Reading descriptions of this Hop, 'Herbal' and 'Spicy' are the main adjectives, but on this occasion I get juicy orange.

It's 33.25 IBUs with amarillo and mandarina bavaria, plus satsuma peel added towards the end of the boil with adds flavour from the zest and bitterness from the pith. Got a 4 pack on the way to me :thumb:

First gold are often described as marmaladey. Got a pack, and a bitter planned with em but not actually used them so far

the armadillo pale ale I did is a bit orangey....a combination of armadillo and amarillo might be a good bet.
