But you came back because you didn't learn much?
Learn't more on other forums, best forum to learn anything Pro Brewer and of course Wiley online.
Where does one see forum ranking charts. Is there a weekly chart show.
Not a weekly review, as far as I know, just which forums home brewers found most helpful. As I said this is a more social forum, being as there are more posts in, 'The snug' than brewing .

@Angie Like others, I’m on this forum primarily to share brewing insights. However, over the past year, it has become, for me, one of the few places I can have an exchange of views with people whose views on a variety of topics (brewing and non-brewing) are different from my own. I find that valuable and thought-provoking. For that reason, I was disappointed to lose access to the Brexit forums, which happened suddenly and without warning.

Totally agree.

Nothing wrong with the 'Snug' as a concept.
The moderating style, however, is questionable.

Funnily enough checking the tinterweb I came across this from The Best Homebrewing Forums To Join To Turn You Into A Pro | Beer Creation

Background
Unlike some other fourms on this list, the homebrew forum is just that, a pure forum. There isn’t any accompanying blog or shop, which isn’t at all a bad thing.

The forum itself is well organized and has a wealth of information (80,000 threads plus), so well worth checking in and doing a search for any questions you have."

I can only see a small red one for "love brewing", I can't see any others.

I have pi-hole installed on a raspberry pi zero w, so that cuts out a ton of ads.

I think it was the only one foxy could find, although I would happily be proven wrong.
The Homebrew Forum used to be a good forum with a lot of knowledgeable brewers contributing. For some reason they seem to be over on Jims Beerkit now. Looks like home brew forum UK has dropped down to eighth spot now.
As you can see its not about the quantity of the posts its the quality.

Thanks for those comments, your comment and others have me thinking. That can be good or that can be dangerous. But I want to give careful consideration to the comments on this thread before I do anything. Sometimes doing things quickly don't show the down the lines ramifications (such as your comment about the change in that forum status).

But to be on feedspot you have to submit your blog to them. Jim's even isn't listed so how can you indicate that is better. Just had a look over there and there isn't much brewing chat going on. Their kit section is the most popular section.

Do people think it's a bad thing having a social side to the site??
Nope, but this seems to have served as a convenient strawman to distract from the point.

Hmmm...I thought the social thing was the norm...I've only ever been on one other forum (non brewing) a few years ago so haven't really compared.

Where did I say Jims Beerkit was better?
Look, I have no objection to a forum making money, this is a brewing forum with far more other interests other than brewing. I am not bothered by it, it is thanks to what is posted in the snug which brings in the revenue. Provided they the incoming traffic hit on an ad. Becoming a supporting member is icing on the cake for the owner.
Come on here for a bit of banter and a laugh, there are plenty of other forums with a more serious interest in brewing beer.
Which are the best, it depends what one wants from a forum, someone who really wants to learn the brewing craft will drift off. Others will stay, new ones will come in.

So...I've not used any other brew forums in earnest...do you think there isn't the knowledge base here that's about elsewhere?
I'm not that well informed in brewing..just learning along the way...but all questions seem to get answers..or,keeping it to my level,I've not yet progressed to anything more complicated?
