I dare not ask what you search the web for...

@Brianbrewed is that when you are logged in? Or logged out. I can help you when logged in, but I have showed you the ad choice controls when logged out.

So...I take it,being a bit technothick, that the ads are tailored to a degree by our general internet searches....clothes,cars,houses etc...?

Yes. That is correct. This same effect will happen on almost any site that has ads. Google Adsense is many places. But you can use the X to kill an add, or uset the other links I gave above to make the ads a bit more to your liking.

Have a conversation in your room with your phone in your pocket switched off and notice when checking news feeds, searching the web or social media how strange it is that some things in the said conversation just happen to appear like magic.

Ahh, it's grand.
Doesn't bother me one bit.

The wax one though was rotten. I reckon I got that because I was looking up how to clean wax from a babies ear (the answer dont).
As for Cooking with Semen, there was an interview with the authors on an Irish Radio show, Sean Moncrieff. They also have a book called Semen Cocktails.
You can find them on amazon, believe it or not.

I think a lot of the tension that's permeated the forum recently stems from the fact that perhaps (and I don't want to speak for the other members here) some feel that there is no value placed on the members.

I understand that this is a business that has to make money, but presumably it is making money otherwise it wouldn't still be here, and maybe the disenfranchisement of the members, ie the ones who create the content and give the business its value, is a little unwarranted. The fact that any discussion on this is immediately shut down just exacerbates the whole thing.
I agree with these sentiments.

It cannot be an easy job been a moderator but I believe my thoughts on this issue have been made very clear.

This definitely happens. We did some random ones at work a while ago to try it out, talking about bee hives or something along those lines, and sure enough adverts for bee keeping started popping up.

The other week, Billy Piper was in the telly and I haven't seen her for years and mentioned her name to the wife. Later that evening a article about her appears on Google News on my phone.😲

Could I ask why members are seeing adverts anywhere some browsers auromatically block them or you can use adblock there is no reason to see them any more.

My supporting membership was taken away but don't see any ads and don't use any ad blocker. Don't think I could cope with a site full of ads
