I've got a couple of corny's and had them for a while but haven't done anything with them yet. I need to know what else I need... here's what i already have;

A tap to fit on the front of a fridge
a fridge
a corny
jg fitting for the corny in & out
some 3/16" beer line
a jg adapter to go from the tap to the beer line (can't remember size)
bottle of co2 (not got yet, but know where to get one)

Can anyone advise what else I will need, preferably with links to things if that's not too much to ask. I know i'll need a regulator and a some tubes/adapters, I'm just not sure which ones.

Also, is the 3/16" beer line only suitable for highly carbed beers? Is there another sized one that is more suitable for less carbonated drinks?

Thanks!

3/16 line for lagers , wheat beers and fizzy brews while 3/8 line for medium to low carbed brews .
I have a tap with 3/16 fitting in it then use beer line around 4 ft (wheat beers for me mostly) then that goes into a jg fitting that connects to the disconnect that goes onto the out of the corny , Then 3/8 gas pipe grey that connects onto the in side on my corny and the other end goes onto the regulator which is connected to the gas bottle ( ask at your local pub they may help you with a bottle ) . That's it
For you if you are fitting it to the fridge then is the shank long enough ? You can get longer shanks if needed . Have you a back nut for the tap ? It will be called a back nut http://www.plumbcenter.co.uk/en/bathroo ... air-311553 like this , and some washers too may be needed .

Thanks. I do have a washer and back nut. They came with the tap. The thread on the tap isnt very long so i will have to bore out some insulation from the door.

So the out from the gas pipe which is 3/8 goes straight on to the jg in and the other end goes straight to the regulator? Presumably then i just need some more 3/8 tube to go from the cylinder to the regulator?

Will I need something to go from my 3/16 beer line to the jg out on the corner? Maybe a 3/8-3/16 adaptor or something? Would i need a short line of 3/8 beer line to run between them?

depends what you brew , fizzy yes , creamy low fizzy then 3/8 line . Maybe 6 ft if medium fizz less if lower . get inserts off ebay for 3/8 to 3/16 if needed to use 3/16 for fizzy and maybe 6ft ( mine 4ft at 20 psi serving for wheat of 3/16 , most other brews want 3/8 and serve much lower psi ) .

Awesome. How do you find wheats kegged? Do you lose any of the yeast character?

Could you recommend a decent cheap regulator?

P.s if you boil good and long and get the larger proteins to drop out then protein has no issues and yeast issues are easily solved by shaking the keg slightly to get the yeast back into the beer if clearing any ( left standing for a while may start to clear ) I find it tastes better and smoother :D

Thanks. Would you know what fitting it would need to get the relevant gas line to attach? Can you just use 3/8 beer line for the gas?

Shame its not the same as the beer line. Can only see that in 5m lengths and i doubt ill need it all for the beer.

So my shopping list is;
3/8 straight jg connector for less carbonated beers
3/8 beer line
3/8 gas line
Co2 regulator
Co2 bottle

Then I think my kegorator will be ready to put together! I found the drill bits for the fridge door too last night. Hopefully there wont be anything in the door that breaks the fridge!

Thanks pittsy. That wheat came out really nice by the way. I'll do another for the keg in a few weeks.

Your welcome , as far as fridge goes if it comes off ( you can change which way they open ) then they;ll be no pipes etc inside door unless it's american style fridge but that'll have pipes in 1 corner of 1 door if so drill other door .
