Home made blackberry whisky using blackberries from the garden which has been maturing for 15 months.

Wilko chocolate stout kit - opened one day early as I'm impatient. Actually quite nice - creamy, decent body and quite chocolatey. Made for my father in law rather than me as I'm not a stout drinker really, but its not bad

Went to buxton tap today had to come home with a growler of ddh axe edge, I'll sup this while doing a yellow bellyish brew, peanut butter milkshake stout. Hope it turns out half as good as buxton's
 
This is a simply brilliant beer

Tough day.

Hydrometer tube of my nearly finished Kolsch and Best Extra stout. Both were very promising, stout bloomin' strong. Bottle of home brewed brown ale, and then a test bottle of my ESB to see if it had carbed up. It has, and is really nice. Which is all good, as I have decided my brown ale is total pants.
 
My India Helles Lager using the recipe for Camden Town IHL from the Euan Ferguson Craft Brew book.

To say I'm pleased with this one is an understatement. Tropical fruit aroma and flavour is off the scale.

Still very young and a little hazy.

Schwaben Bräu Das Helle from Lidl. Not to bad, low bitterness sort of lager thingy; nicer than most commercial lager swill. I've never ad a Helles before, but my understanding is this is pretty typical of the style?

Pretty much so, very sessionable based on my Munich experiences.

This is my attempt at a kölsch - I call it Not Kwite Kölsch!
It's had a month lagering; I pulled some of the trub up when racking to make sure that there was enough yeast in the bottles.
It's still young and pretty hazy, and less carbonated than I aimed for. No head retention.
Another week in the warm, methinks, and a couple of weeks more in the cold to condition.
Quite easy to drink, on the low side of bittering for this style, to suit my taste.
 
More Aldi finds, to give me a rest from my not very good brown ale. First up is schwaben bräu weihnachtsbier. It's ok; another lager of some kind ; malty with only a slight bitterness. Might have to have another bottle to make sure.
