On the dark chilli beers tonight both really mild on the chilli. But that's a good thing in my book, who wants a pint of vindaloo.

It's the good lady's and my anniversary today, so I knocked up a romantic meal for two, frequently interupted by the girls obviously (what's that? Errrrr... Gross. Can I have a sandwich? Look at my homework. Can you sign this form from school? Etc etc ). Now drinking prosecco together after sending the kids to bed.

Kegged beginners European lager kit from Muntons. It has only just lost that cidery taste that it had due to not having enough dextrose and I had to top up with table sugar. Really only bought it to get to grasps with kegging for the first time and I had some decent enough kits from Muntons in the past (nut brown ale and bock). Plus my missus was with me when I was in my LHBS. Can't say I would have opted for lager if it had of been just me that went in.

It's not bad, as far as lagers go. Something to quaff whilst I brew up my 20 min Citra IPA tonight.

Stiggy, how you finding those beers? I tried the Evil Twin one about a year ago. Thought it was a massive let down. As I have found with most of their canned beers. Sometimes, on draught, they do a good one but I find them to be a brewery with a rather undeserved reputation.

As for FourPure, I've never tried anything good by them.

The four pure one was to sweet for me didn't realise it was a milk stout even though the clue was in the name. I had a few before buying these as a takeout. The EvilTwin one was spot on though, realy nice thick body with a nice roasty kick went realy well with the slight chilli hit, I would have one again even though it's a bit pricey, £7.odd they had the doughnut one aswell but that was £11 so I went for the cheapest.

Ah, my mistake. It was the biscotti doughnut one I had. You did yourself a favour. There is no way it is worth £11.

Yum yum yum yum yum

Had a few in the pub earlier, a buxton myrcia, boon framboise and a straffe Hendrick quad. Then got these to take home.

Tonight I have a 750ml of Burning Sky Coolship beer. It’s a beautifully balanced sour beer, refreshingly tart but not overpowering. A stunner.

Don't forget the KY Jelly. It's really good for smearing on bedroom door-knobs to stop the kids getting in!

Billy Connelly joke, as I recall, Jimmy, er, Dutto.

As to the thread, am drinking this Cornish Tin Miners Ale, pitched 14 Jan 2018. It was pretty strong sort of an Ale from the start, enhanced by ~ 500g sugar (I was playing at making Golden syrup at the time - its a nice side line on home brewing, I feel). Then a few bottles somehow get kind of lost in the moving stuff around in the garage. They get left over the summer and it gets warm. A bit later you realise that the pressure is a bit much and you let it de-pressure a bit (it's all in 2L cider bottles). Then it's tonight and by all my reckoning ~ 8%. Not drunk much else this evening, but feel a bit tiddly.
