That's Switzerland, prices through the roof. But the mountains are nice.

Yesterday/last night....unfortunate circumstances attended the funeral of a colleague who died tragically at the age of 30.
A sad service but very touching....then we all went on the ale! Started 5 got home 11...far too much...RIP Jimmy.

Six hours well spent, I think Jimmy would've grinned and feel sorry for not being there.

Today was the end of the official 6 week period since I had put my Northwest Pale Ale down and the 4 weeks in the bottle was over. I could not wait to try it. I did try it at 2 and then 3 weeks in the bottle, but this was the milestone. When I tried it at 3 weeks it was not nice, so I was hoping that it had improved a fair bit. I am glad to say it had. It was a really nice drink, with a smashing flavour. Much improved on the drink at 3 weeks. There was not much of a head on it but in all the beers I have done so far the heads have been hit and miss. I can live without the head on this ale though. On the whole a nice refreshing drink and one I would look at doing again.

Experimental Saison / biere de garde thingy. Bottled about 10 days ago, but really rather pleased with this.....

Last night I had one of my Coopers larger. I did notice that I cony have 6 bottles left though out of the oricinal 30. It is surprising how quick they go down :cheers7:

The larger itself was very nice. It is a few months now since I made it and the longer time goes by the more I am goesgetting into it. The carbination was nice and there was continual bubbles rising. The head was OK, but faded slightly towards the end. This drink has really improved with age. Next time if I make any I think I will leqve it a few months before I even try it.

It was nice and refreshing with the home made korma.

A mate brought me this back from a trip to the York Brewery. At 7.5% I'd call it a sipping stout and it's gorgeous, really nice. According to the bumf, 6 different malt with Northdown and Phoenix hops. I wouldn't have it as a Friday or Saturday night beer when I'm going to town on them but like tonight when I'm just having one, it's perfect.

Well, so far tonight I've had a can of Brewdog Clockwork Tangerine (absolutely delicious), a can of Brewdog Indie Pale Ale (ok on a hot day, whilst barbecuing meat), and a bottle of Shipyard Pale Ale (pish, forced my self to finish it.).

All in the name of researching potential beers to have a go at brewing... lol

I also have a bottle of my all time favourite in the kitchen, Titanic Plum Porter! Our local Asda finally started stocking Slaters and Titanic beers (Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent respectively). Wonder if they'll start stocking Lymestone beers next? Nice to see more local micros making it onto the shelves.

A Duvel today, but bought on purpose to age. I think this one was now eight months old, the next one will be for after summer.
