Another belter from cloudwater ddh Citra.
I'm wondering where the hallertau comes in end of boil I presume. I can't pick it out it's just massive Citra notes. With a little pine.

If they're blitzing it with the likes of those four "big" american hops, I'm kind of wondering why they bothered with the Hallertau.

Maybe it gives something different than it's normal flavour and aroma through biotransformation. Or perhaps it's grassy notes just freshen up the aroma without being noticable, kind of like adding subconscious summery notes. I'm inclined to the latter.

I opened up an MK of the Vienna Lager Batch One.

This was the batch that was fermented out back in April, carbonated for a week at 20 degrees, cold crashed down to 1 degree for a week and then left to condition on the garage shelves for nearly 12 weeks.

It's a bit lively and a bit cloudy after being moved to the kitchen but WOW!

It has a malty and fruity taste so I don't expect it to last too long ... :thumb: :thumb:

... and I'm not normally a Lager drinker!

Two youngs...apa and iapa. Both very nice and just the ticket to knock me out after getting up early this morning off my last night shift!

Having one of my Armadillo SMaSH (hops courtesy of @Dads_Ale).

Very clear. Not as fruity/Tropical as I thought after reading about the hop. Very piney.

Still good though!

To start one of the last of my first (!) part mash have a go..an American style pale with lots of c hops....I should have waited....it's bitter, juicy and tasty...and clear as a bell! It was good earlier on around 4/5 weeks but I found 2 bottles in my shed at 7/8 weeks....good job I kept good notes!
Next a festival Pilgrims Hope which again is a very nice pint.
After that....probably a youngs aipa. ....but then I have a saison....nearly 4 weeks old....

Next up... $10 Shake Clone.

Bit murkier and darker than Saturday. Also much livelier. Possibly due to warm weather and further fermentation in the bottle?

Still tastes great though! 😀🍻

Can I ask where you got the purées to put in the 10 Dollar Shake clone? And did you need to treat them in any way?

Tonight I'm drinking my second last bottle of my ESB. It's been conditioned for about 5 months.

I got the Mango and Passion Fruit from Amazon, Funkin or something I think they were.
The papaya was the tricky one. Also from Amazon but had to order in from the states.

Didn't do anything more to it than decant and weigh. It's added in secondary so has alcohol in the wort at this point so not much risk really.

Good to hear. I'm doing a passion fruit IPA soon and it is Funkin purée that I ordered.

The 10 Dollar Shake looks great. Quite like the idea of adding lactose to an IPA

Just popped out for a couple of halves. Cloudwater IIPA Centennial and Oud Beersel Oude Vieux Lambiek weren't a bad school night find on draft.

It was raining all day today so I got bored and emptied the MK! :thumb:

That's the trouble with MK's sat in the kitchen; it's too easy to just keep pouring another pint.

There's no way I would have waded through the rain to get another couple of bottles! Honest!

Had the first bottle of my muntons gold pilsner bury hopped with a heap of Saaz, it ok nothing special. Now onto my Golden Stag summer ale, now this I am enjoying.
