Just opened a can of vedett. Had it from morrisons. Believe it's by duvel. No description on the can apart from its extra light. Tastes like. Lager to me
My missus picked me up a couple of bottles of Adnam's dry-hopped lager yesterday and I had them last night. I don't know what anyone else thinks of it, but I loved it. It's possibly the nicest lager I've had in this country. I noticed that it's DH'd with Galaxy, which I haven't used or knowingly had before, so I'll be getting some of them. I also noticed on Adnam's website that you can order minikegs of it; 2 for ã30. I'm tempted to get some for our next BBQ, as they're a nice looking keg too :)
Fresh hops in lager make a huge difference, thats why most store bought stuff is crappy just no hop flavour there..
Have a go at making an AG lager or pseudo.. I stopped having lagers for along time but making them I have rediscovered a liking for one with flavour!!
Temptation got the betterof myself again and cracked a bottle of my Rosehip Saison open. I only bottled it on Saturday.. A bit chill haze but it is stunning a proper summer brew. And my 1st full brew from the Grainfather.
Cheers
John
I like it it...style over substance:lol:British wine!
I know I should have known better, but in the words of Clarkson -
It's a bottle of "Silver Bay (what is the) Point" Which is pretending to be like a bottle of New Zealand 'Silver Point' or 'Arniston Bay'.
Alarm bells should have started ringing when it said on the back "perfect when served slightly cool" - which is what you want from a Red isn't it?
It doesn't have a bouquet, it has a smell; Like one of those blackcurrant cartons that has been to a summer camp and come back squashed out of shape - but you think would still be ok.......right?
It doesn't taste of wine. I would consider as some kind of fake wine if I got served it in a jug in some back street Tandori. It is like a kind of boiled beetroot juice with a bit of a vinegar aftertaste. But it does have some alcohol so something must have fermented in it. From the taste I think this was a couple of old leather suitcases.:-?
It says it "Perfectly complements most tastes and moods".
To me this should be interpreted as "Should only be consumed when you are already extremely drunk and don't care what it tastes like" and "best served with Extremely hot curries when drinking your own warm **** would be preferable."

So I'm giving it a 1 out of 10, because it comes in a bottle like wine does.
I'm home alone tonight, so I decided to pop into the local bottle shop to get something I haven't tried before. Accidentally came back with this lot
Bevertown Black Betty Black IPA
Brewdog Elvis Juice
Brewdog Arcade Nation
Brewdog Ace of Simcoe
Brewdog Monk Hammer
Brewdog Hop Fiction
Goller Rauchbier
Kernal Chinook Dry Stout
Kernal Galaxy Pale Ale
Buxton Axe Edge
Stone Coffee Milk Stout
Wild Beer Co. Sourdough
Thornbridge Eldon Bourbon Oak Imperial Stout
Fraoch Heather Ale
Gueuze Girardin
Kriek Girardin
So, they are in the fridge but aren't cold yet. Which one shall I have first? Which ones doesn't matter if its not cold?
You must've spent 40 to 50 quid on that lot. If I spent a bullseye on beer just for me, my missus would throttle me.
