The other school of thought of course is he fobs her off with the rubbish and saves the good beer for himself!

I'm afraid not. Her request for beer is always "whatever is on offer". And that's from a limited range - Bud, Corona, Stella.

She's easily pleased, I'll give her that. Which is just as well for me.

If anyone else here listens to Jonny Vaughn on Radio X during their Brewday, you may have an idea of what I mean in the above title.

Anyway, I am drinking this fine evening, an ESB, somehow bottled on the 11th day of February and yet not drunk previously.

Just so drinkable, not hoppy, not malty, not a strong beer, not particularly anything really, but this is why I make my own beer. It is actually perfect.

There might even be another 2L bottle for another day.

Oh Joy, Oh bliss. :thumb:

just cracked open a bottle of badgers hopping hare P/A I got from Aldi yesterday, never tried it before and rather disappointing short on the citrus hop taste and too strong on the bitterness, wont buy it again:oops:

Badgers range I found is mostly disappointing especially Poachers Choice which to me is like drinking muddy puddle water and very muddy at that.

Golden champion and golden glory were imo two of the best on offer 6-7 years ago. Now they seem very poor in comparison. How times have changed :thumb:

I was going to give the Guinness west indies porter and Guinness Dublin porter a try tonight but they didn't have them in stock  so tonight its -

Had a great weekend with two BBQs. One of them being my daughter's 2nd birthday party.
Had the bar open for the parents and had loads of positive feedback. 😁

I had Blacksheep's Pathmaker (APA) which was ok. Then M&S Flat White Porter, which was nowhere near as good as it sounds.

A rather disappointing evening's tipple. But quite happy that I prefer my own brews to these shop bought efforts.
