It’s haggis tonight so only one type of malt based beverage really suits.

Nor have i and never will, life is to short acheers. the other day my wife said just think 50 years ago you were 21 and i thought feckin hell thats scary
Yeah I have to confess I’m not very committed. On days I go to the pub all rules are suspended and I think I’ve had about a dozen pub days this month (someone has to keep the pubs afloat while everyone is doing dry January). I’m off to the pub again in a few minutes so I’ll probably not be posting tonight. Have a good night all. Cheers! 🍻

At the beginning of April I am taking part in the "Kazbek Cup" competition in Zatec (CZ) with a DIPA.
Many microbreweries will be presenting their fantastic beers for tasting, and I'm looking forward to judging them.

Im drinking the closest thing yet to the memories I have of childhood bitter (well 15 years old, I was a late developer)
It's a 4½% abv 35 ibu beer coloured beer made with 90% Red-X and 10% caramalt. Bittered with challenger, one version has late EKGs and the other aramis. I can't make up my mind which one I prefer. Red-X is a lovely malt with a dry toastiness which is not quite reminiscent of amber malt, the cara gives a bit of body without the cloying sweetness of crystal.
It pours with a lovely head.
Was going to attach a photo, but it's gone!
