Bad news -the keg kicked, doh!!!
Good news - I’ve got a pale from @pilgrimhudd waiting in the wings.
Beautiful beer to look at in the glass, good clarity and a tight head that lasted the whole pint.
I’ve had this hop combination once before, also from @pilgrimhudd and it’s a winner; blackberry and stone fruit blend with a nice spicy back note. Bready malts provide a balanced backbone, the moderate bitterness level is spot on.
Lovely beer, it’s cheered me up no end after emptying the last keg brewed in the current home. Thank you for sharing it athumb..

Glad you like it, think it's the fourth time I've brewed it, slightly messing about with the hops each time. Must get another on. 👍

But in this instance the issues suffered by les. 😜
It’s also a recurring theme in the NHS from the 90’s until as recent as this year 😂. So many policies and projects refer to it from security to transformation.

See my problem is I like a stout. I even like a “pastry” stout. I like big bold stouts. I don’t like thin 4.5% stouts. So every so often I give brewdog a go if I see a new offering from them. 6.8%. Should be good. Rocky road. Marshmallow. Could be dodgy.
What it is is another artificial tasting additive to a fairly decent base stout. It tastes like someone put jam into a glass and poured stout on it. That’s me with brewdog stouts untill I forget what they are like and buy another. See you in 12 months then.
 
Now a bottle of my saison. Firstly to compare against the kegged version and to see if its better carbed than the swing tops.
Firsty it's better than the swing tops, secondly it's an improvement on the keg. Higher carb and more saison character. Need to use a bigger glass next time, the double pour meant a bit of yeast got in and made it hazy.

Next time I do a saison it will be part Brett blend and the rest in the bottle.

Always seems better in the bottle. Interesting about the swing tops.
I’ve always found they were ok and haven’t had much difference in capped and swing. In saying that I haven’t bottled in a while.

Nor me. And it's only research based on one bottle of each. They are old swing tops so perhaps seals are gone. But all the bottles have benefitted of sub zero temperatures in the garage this past week.

I have a beer in the fermenter that needs bottled / kegged. Was planning on bottling but it’s a chore to do so might just keg will decide in the morning . I was away last week so it’s been cold crashing in the cold weather so should be well cleared by now.

Yeah, I’ve given up on Brewdog. I’m sure they still have some nice beers but I’ve just been put off by this kind of stuff.

I give up on them all the time and then see something that piques my interest so “forget” how bad they can be. Then buy it at £4 a can and get reminded why I don’t buy them anymore. The mcewans champion was less than £2 a bottle and far superior.
