This is my first Alt that I didn’t make myself. Maybe a subconscious thing going on but it tastes exactly like Utopian pilsner. I was expecting malty or bitter? This was the only type available unfortunately.

No, surely not. I have had both beers and I'm sure if you did a side by side they would be miles apart . I haven't had them in the same session, but I have had that beer with my Altbier for a bit of side by side education.

Well 8 days in the keg I thought I would try the bitter that is more like a mild, as you can see it is crystal clear a bloody well roasty, for some unknown reason I put 100g of roasted barley in instead of 50g of black for Color, I will be making this again View attachment 105882View attachment 105882
