31c today but a slight breeze.
First taste of the pale ale I kegged last Friday, I can really taste the jester hops still a little hazy but but nice
Rodcx500z...do you generally tap your beers quite soon after kegging? What's the carbonation like?
Yes i do Clint, i keg whack the the gas to 40psi for a few hours then down to 20psi for a day, then serve at 10 psi after 4 or 5 days, the last 1/4 of the keg is always the best

Well my bottling which I did the other day. It didn't look right, I really have no idea why I went ahead and bottled it
I knew it was 'off' what was I expecting, a miracle! Tipped 28 longnecks. The smell was like malt extract, the one which is sold in tins for making malt loaf or feeding to toddlers.

It's a tough day/week/life
After lunch with the grandchildren (I was drinking Sharpes Atlantic) and then a bit of kegging and prepping for another brew tomorrow it’s time for a beer. Cask best bitter.

In my glass today is an APA "Desperat" from Pivovar Falkenstejn, Krasna Lipa (CZ).

First beer out of my new (complicated) fermenter. Cascade pale ale at a pleasant snooze inducing 5% ABV.
Rare treat for me having a comparison beer of the clone brew. Both September brews, mine has HBC431 which is described as peach, red fruit and tropical, theirs has Columbus which is herbal and citrus.
Mine has a weird aroma that is hard to name. Kernel has a hop pellet aroma which is also unusual.
Taste is more similar due to the high roast additions. I would have guessed that citrus hops wouldn’t work in porter but really they are both effective flavours.
My beer has a more cheeky bitterness that hits late and makes me smile.
