this is my first kit brew using brew enhancer and temperature controlled brew fridge plus strabright finings, a step up from my first attempts which were brewed on the kitchen worktop, it's still a bit young and needs a couple more weeks of maturation, I'm just impatient as my wife keeps telling me. It's a Festival American Pale Ale. Honestly it's a very nice ale and worth the extra effort but it tastes like a strong english ale, it's not pale and not americal in my honest opinion. More like a suffolk strong ale, no complaints really but my idea of an APA is something like Sierra Nevada which is excellent. All that aside I would recommend the kit and I will probably buy it again, Ongoing, a few more kit brews then maybe upgrade to part or full grain, but I,ve got another 36 pints to enjoy first, plus I have just brewed a Dark Rock Riwaka Pale Ale today.

It’s another hot day in sunny Kent so I’m starting today with a very cold Pilsner. The grain flavour in this batch is really good. Head retention not quite so good.
