Tester of the usual wf stout. I used the @Hazelwood Brewery method of mash hoping and scaled back the early hops and it’s less bitter than last time. Lots of chocolate and liquorice flavours with a slightly bitter finish.

Hammering the drinks tonight but who cares? It’s Friday and nearly Christmas so now then! 🎅

I think I’ve gone daft as I’m trying stuff I’d normally dismiss - first speckled hen and now this. Must admit, prefer the speckled hen. Much more flavour than this. I think I prefer maltier stuff. It’s not bad though! And the bottles are pretty! 🤩

Saison! I was influenced by H's drinking a few days back. Heading out to the beer megastore in a bit.

Unfortunately my saison is virtually gone, I have somewhere between 2 and pints left I’d say.

Time for a Trappist. It definitively has the billowy white head appropriate to the style (more quiff than Tintin!).

Another new style for me, Belgian IPA, this time brewed by @samale. I’m getting lots of complex yeast flavours with peppery phenols leading the field. Definitely not what I’m used to in an IPA, and I really like it. Great brew 👏 and thank you.
