So i thought I’d make the most of the bit of sun that’s poking through, so I’m sat in the garden with the hubby and doggy, and we’re having a go at the Blackforest wine today.

It’s a lovely jewelled tone colour and made with Blackforest fruits, blueberries, dark sweet cherries, chocolate extract and vanilla.

I don’t think Wooster minds!

That dark cloud better beggar off sharpish! :laugh8:

When @dave_77 popped round with a few beers he serruptitiously reached behind his back and pulled out an unmarked bottle. He leant in close and pushed the bottle into my hand. “From Dan” he whispered. At least that’s how I remember it but he may just have given me a bottle from @dan125.

The bottle IS unmarked though and I have no idea what I have here! Having poured it into a glass I see it’s well carbonated, a pale gold colour, and crystal clear with a soft fluffy white head.

The aroma tells me I might be dealing with a lager, it has a dry cracker malt aroma with just a delicate spicy fruity vibe.

The flavour is just like the aroma. It’s clean, it’s delicately fruity and has a subtle spicy note. The malt is definitely Pilsner-like. The finish is well attenuated.

Well, it’s now gone so I’ll end this post by saying this was some sort of lager 😂 If this was @dan125 ‘s latest NEIPA, one of us has gone very wrong!

This Single Hop Citra NEIPA with a Verdant grain bill (inc oats and wheat) and Verdant yeast. its improved a lot from 10 days or so in the keg. Having now done my 1st single hop brew and also recently having done the Citra/Galaxy 'Even Sharks...' recipe from Verdant I'm thinking a Citra/Mosaic/Galaxy combo would be really good. Does anyone have any experience of this hop combo?

Aurora & Saaz Saison 6.4%

I am starting to get the appeal of Saison this was a really simple grain bill (Pilsner and Carapils) hopped with Saaz & Aurora, and fermented with Belle Saison it’s crisp dry with that distinctive taste that goes with a Saison. I don’t have proper temperature control so I suspect it will be Saison and Weissbier that will get me through the summer this year (maybe with a couple,of Kweik pale ales thrown in for variety).
