Good old Sunday. Having had four days off, the longest period since I was 16, I thought I'd celebrate with a bottle of La Choulette ambrée, à deliciously light and fragrant bière de garde at only 7%. I love La Choulette, which is miles better than Ch'ti. Time for a proper drop of homebrew methinks. Getting a bit giddy there.

I'm trying a #4 Tribute...it's been kegged a week. It's nearly clear,smells and tastes bang on to be fair but carbonation is poor. I've injected about 3 bulbs into it instead of priming with sugar..it's venting some gas as I do so as there's not much head room in the keg...PITA!

One of the bigger guns, an 8% DIPA, “Monster Soup”. 35 IBU, OG 81, FG 20 (wow), 6 SRM, a whopping 27g/l dry hop!! Hopped with Mosaic, Idaho 7, Simcoe.

You can tell this is a strong ale as soon as you take your first sip but it is I think too sweet and too hoppy - I don’t remember ever saying that before but the word soup is probably appropriate. Not one of my favourites from Time&Tide.

First try of my second all grain batch, an American pale ale with Cascade, bottled a week ago.
Slightly less bitter and sweeter than the Citra, impressed myself with this - a hit with my wife too !

18 months since my jaunt to France. At the end of treasure brought back. Duck confit in a tin and Leffe Royal Blond.
The Leffe is sweet but not as sweet as others. Fuller flavour than regular blond, spicy fruity notes. Easy drinking. 7.5%. Pleased it's a 750ml corked bottle, added to the theatrics opening the bottle.
