A BIPA from @dan125 , something to enjoy whilst being bored silly watching England. This is the second time I have had this beer but I had already drunk a few 6% beers when I had the first sample. Definitely black, head sticks around.mild roast aroma and definitely some piney hops. Low roast flavour, nice and bitter with citrus and pine hop flavour... tasty, very smooth🍺 great beer

Festival Winter Spiced Ale (6.3%)

I try to avoid drinking on week nights but sod it I’m on annual leave. A common comment about 6%+ beers is that they are dangerously drinkable, well that isn’t the term for this one, though very nice it is very much a beer to be sipped in front of the fire over the course of an hour. A beer for when you only plan on having the one.

I do like a dry stout! I was planning on a Guinness clone this week but my Malt Miller order placed on the 17th November isn't due for delivery til the 23rd!! I have emailed to see if this is right!! Don't mind a couple of days but I paid for DPD...

How is it?
Superb, it's been a good while since I allowed myself one, but it's every bit as good as I remembered. Rich vanilla and bourbon, silk like mouth feel without needing heavy carbonation.
It's just really, really good, with such a long lasting flavour, lingering on the tongue long after the tasting.
I've been waiting for the email to say it's available again and it arrived on the perfect day for me 👌
Happy Wolf here...

All these delicious looking stouts in a single night, impressive.

Thanks, I do like a stout, and try to keep a few good ones on hand. That said, I'm trying to sample and appreciate a wider range of styles lately.
So.. there's a marked difference in the number of these and other stout/porters that I ordered today, compared to last year, yet the price hasn't changed much.
Not sure if it's a result of my more varied recent tastings, of keeping this bottle longer than others, or that I usually share one of these between two;
But as I approach the end of this glass, there's just a suggestion that it's maybe just a little alcohol forward with hints of a barley wine like flavour.
I've still really enjoyed it though, and my only regret with my order, is that I should have included a few more of these!

All this stout talk is making me thirsty, so I am thankful @samale sent me his version of a t58 imperial stout.

Pours jet black with a little brown head that dissipates quickly has a bit of carbonation as it bubbled up after swirling.
Aroma is roasty, coffee and chocolate with some yeasty bread and rich malt. A hint of campfire.
Taste is sweet caramel malt with a solid roast character, a bit of spice and clove.
Mouthfeel is nice and light and not at all coating. It drinks like a lighter bodied stout.

Thanks for sending this, based on memory this one is a bit different than the one I brewed. It seemed a bit lighter and also a tad more roast. But it's quite enjoyable and went down way too fast. I saved the other half of the bottle for tomorrow. There is definitely some alcohol in there as I can feel it, even though I didn't get any of it while drinking.

Officially this is a Youngs Harvest Scottish Heavy kit, however rather than using the 1.5KG sugar which would have left me with a 4.9% beer I opted for 1.2kg of malt extract and 200g sugar leaving me with a 3.4% beer. And I couldn’t be happier taste wise it is much closer to a dark mild than a heavy, and has the ABV to match. It was primed at 4g sugar per litre giving a very gentle level of carbonation leaving me with a malty easy drinking session beer which is surprisingly good for a kit beer.
