Some boys I work with have to be woken for the
It's rubbish...I've probably averaged 4/5 hours for the past 10 years...my first day to night I'm awake for 24 hrs...
That's the same for me. I have young children so I could be up at 7 am doing the school run then working that night. My brain is to over active to sleep during the day.

Big issue currently is we've been told we can spend 250 quid each to get our home office environment up to spec - I'm thinking some more reconditioned cornies and maybe a chair.
You’re lucky. I work for a US company so my allowance is $250 which I’d just £195 in real money. That’s got to be a keg lost!

The thing is nights are great unless you do them and unless you do them you can't comment...
As like @samale I'm on the same pattern though a different shift but I don't the new pattern and wonder how I done 4 nights in a row for so long.Breaks between shifts are shorter but so are the shifts plus you are in a fixed pattern regarding weekends on/off which suits me.

Clint I know you do shift work the same as myself. What's your shift pattern. Mine has recently changed by vote. It's was 4 on 4 off days and nights. Now it's like 2 on 2 off, 3 on 3 off, 4 on 4 off. You get two weekends a month off. The breaks are to short for me
I used to do the same cycle, 3 on 2 off 2 on 3 off these were 12 hour shifts. I demanded all my holidays be in 8 hours, the loading made up for more than the twelve hours. Got away with it the first year but when they sussed they were having to cover all my shifts with overtime they stopped it. Also we were on a piece work of a sort, with a league table between the four shifts, those at the top of the table got a bonus $50 a week. Figured out a way to fudge the numbers, and our shift remained at the top of the league and no one ever found out how and why.

English Pale Ale again, my choices are a bit limited at the moment but still very nice 😋

I’ve almost prepared for tomorrow’s brew so time to relax and enjoy a beer.

That looks nice H, i am brewing sat i am thinking 2 brews a full 23L in the klarstein and 12L stove top for bottles athumb..

First sample of non Brett Belgian Pale. First time using white labs Bastogne yeast. This beer is the Orval clone recipe from 'Brew like a Monk'. I like this dry hopped pale without the Brett, need to make sure I keep a few bottles to compare against the other half of the batch with Brett. First time I have dry hopped with Styrian Golding's and first time using the yeast. Subtle Belgian yeast Character and fruity aroma and flavour, not sure what's coming from the hops or the yeast but I like.View attachment 34659
I was looking at that recipe earlier today. Love Orval, would be very interested to hear how the bretted version turns out 👍
