Happy hoppy wheat!

It was only a matter of time before I went full-on dark and here it is. Sweet stout at 6.0%. For me this is nicely balanced and you’d not have any clue of it’s strength from the taste. From your warm red-nosed face, stupid grin, and fuzzy head however... 🥴

Looks dark and dangerous. It's stout season!

American Pale Ale, from a Get'er brewed ingredient box that they seem to have stopped doing. Malt forward, bitterness level delightfully high, hop flavours very much in the background. Needs a couple more weeks in bottle as you can see from the pic, but it's going to be nice when it gets there.

Spotted this in Waitrose as I was taking advantage of their Fuller's Beers for £1.50. it's Prince Charlie's Duchy Old Ruby Ale using Plumage Archer. I'm really interested in odd malt varieties, with my interest in brewing historic ales so I had to have it even though I know nothing about it or who really brews it.

It's nice. Crystal malt, plus that slight thickness you get with some malts. If I was a betting man, I would say Fuggles.

I've started on my MJ Pink Grapefruit IPA which is a big green still and needs a bit more time, but I'm virtually beerless so needs must. A pint of that and a bottle of raspberry turbo cider that I did not so long ago which is nice. All followed by a dram of Glenfiddich whisky. Nice.

Long day working in the lockdown office which I recently reorganised. Can now reach the taps with a small swivel of my wheely chair. Just about to enjoy my final and probably about fifteenth small glass of oatmeal stout. Very squally outside, really don't fancy the stagger back 15 yards up the path to the kitchen. Will however need to break the seal sooner or later...although there are plenty of 5L jugs out here.

Battle on!

I wouldn't get much work done locked in with beer on tap 😀

Yep - we've been asked to take a photo of our home working arrangements by health and safety - won't be too many with a beer engine within easy reach of their second monitor.

Like they'll ever say it's not suitable and get you back into work....
Clint I know you do shift work the same as myself. What's your shift pattern. Mine has recently changed by vote. It's was 4 on 4 off days and nights. Now it's like 2 on 2 off, 3 on 3 off, 4 on 4 off. You get two weekends a month off. The breaks are to short for me
