My best brew to date. A wonderful pineappley-mango-smoothie DIPA clocking in at 9%.

Will brew this one again for sure but might try it with kveik next time.

Next up is a Westvleteren 8 very kindly donated by @Pennine :hat:
This is spectacular. Rich, toasty, brown sugar, toffee, loads of fruit, gentle spice. A bit lighter bodied than the R8, perhaps a touch more bitter, but easily as good. This is a beer that lives up to its reputation. Thanks again for sending this!

that looks pretty! wish I had one to sip on.

I think I agree, the plum is just a little too prominent and 3ml less of the plum flavouring (I used 15ml) would probably have been a better balance. It is a matter of taste though, for @Oneflewover the pluminess was just right (auto spelling correction tried to make me say “plum mines“ :confused.: 😂).
Twas a lovely beer 👍. I was very happy with the plum mines 😆

Tried a brew dog lost lager ( may have the exact brand wrong ) and as a former lager drinker years ago Brew Dogs rediscovery was best left undiscovered in my humble opinion. Im not knocking them as im sure it will appeal to plenty of people . I dont know why but was expecting something else . Anyway opened a bottle of white vino instead .

Supped before remembering to take a pic. Bottled this St Peters Stout at the beginning of the week. Plastic bottle pressure tester firmed up already. So took a liberty and cracked one open. Really pleased. Added 7.8g (last spoon full in the pack) of Lavazza Prontissimo instant coffee to 19l. Nice gentle coffee note there without overpowering the brew. Advantage of instant, no oils to destroy the head. This one just needs time to condition. Chocolate coloured head when poured. Very happy with it.

It really is how you'd imagine it to be. Just a ramped up punk. It's decent but I doubt I will be handing over £3 or £3.50 for another one. I find Tesco have quite a lot of beers in that price range that are just not up to scratch.

ASDA's selection is the worst though, unless you really like cheap lager.

Sainsbury's is worse again

I don't mind Sainsbury's. They have stuff from Camden, Beaverton, stewerts, drygate, tiny rebel etc.
I prefer to go to chill and try some local stuff. Have you tried rough brothers stuff yet. I had his pale ale, not bad. I can't get enough of 8 degrees full Irish IPA. It's a cracking beer.
