I want to really like this, but it's fairly average. Some nice deep rich molasses flavours, but just lacking the Joie de Vivre that you get with the Belgian Trappists.

The weather here is sunny, the wine is good and reasonable priced and the food excellent (and I may be mildly intoxicated on house wine and raki. Seriously every restaurant seems to give complementary Raki at the end of the meal I’m not sure if my liver can take it.

We’ve had a good afternoon at a pub with BBQ and live music. I had several pints of Adnams Southwold. Home now and finishing the afternoon with cheeses and port.

Today in first tasting my Black IPA (version 3) "Black Devil" brewed as a split for a competition, with other hops.
8,5% alcohol by volume.
50 IBU Stw. 19,1°P
I will report on the result.

Stepping out tonight...7 pints of a rather nice pale ale. Plus I got to wear my creepers!

My son brought me this back from his visit there, watching it get canned. 7.3% think it's me getting canned. Brewed with strata hops and is very drinkable.
