6,500 residents evacuated.

There isn't going to be much of the village left if that lot comes down.

A town is being evacuated because parts of the wall of a nearby reservoir have collapsed in floods.

The Toddbrook Reservoir dam, above Whaley Bridge in Derbyshire, was damaged following heavy rains.

Police have told the town's 6,500 residents to gather at a local school and they will be evacuated from there.

A severe flood warning, which means there is a threat to life, has been issued for the River Goyt, below the reservoir.

Lovely little town not far from me, I was there at the foot of that dam a few weeks back with the fam. Hope everyone is safe and doesn't cause to much damage if it does go.

Wonder why they don't overlay and shape those spillway pieces like roof tiles. Everyone knows that when you run water over cracks it gets under and proceeds to cut it's own channel.

Amazing as you didn't even see it lift after the first drop.So controlled.

I was thinking the blades of the helicopter weren’t that far away from the barriers at the top of the dam. Incredible skill!
