You seem to be low on the IBU's. I think you need to be more about 40 IBU's. This is a malty but bitter beer.

Last time, I used the following hop schedule which turned out very nice;

Saaz AA 3.1% 80g 90mins
Saaz AA 3.1% 40g 30mins
Saaz AA 3.1% 35g 10mins
Saaz AA 3.1% 30g 20mins steep at 80C

:cheers:

The heesle water is where we live all the additives in the water are put into beersmith etc and stored within beersmith so you get the correct water treatments :thumb:

Agree with Good Ed . . . You are way off on the bitterness . . .in fact with 9.8 IBU you are well below the bitterness of Budweiser (15IBU)

Pilsner Urquell has an IBU of 40 Swap the Bittering addition with the Aroma Addition and you will be getting closer

The recipe was obtained from dave lines book the only hops missing on the recipe are the 10g which will be added to the corny for dry hopping. Ive checked the book and the hop additions are correct but ill up the saaz a bit anyway see how it turns out :thumb:

I've just looked at Dave Lines Book (BBLTYB Page 143) and the hop additions are

75g at stage 3 (start of boil)
15g at Stage 4 (Switch off and steep)
10g at Stage 5 (Dry hop)

I think you have entered them into beersmith the wrong way round ;)

Pilsner Urquell isn't dry hopped but gets the aroma from a massive steep addition of the stickiest greenest hops you'll ever see
