How much change to FG does DME add

Hi all.
I am starting to pimp my beer kits and seem to be getting a much higher FG than I thought.

I currently have a Brewferm Pilsner on the go. I added 500g light DME and 600g dextrose in 20L of water using the kit yeast packet fermenting at 23C.
According to the instructions FG should be 1.004.

I am seeing the fermentation stopped and get a SG of 1.011.

I expect a higher FG as the instructions are based on 1KG of sugar/ dextrose, but 6 to 7 points seems much higher to me.

Does anyone know what sort of effect DME has on FG? I believe it to be 80% fermentable and using ale yeast (23C) probably means less than that. I haven't tasted it yet and will leave it another 5 days incase (has had a really good start and been fermenting for 5 days now.

Any advice/info would be much appreciated

There have been a few post recently where kits predict what I would consider to be over optimistic FG levels, possibly so they can advertise a higher ABV.

If I get down to 1.009 on my AG I am happy.

Also too much fermentables can be too much for the yeast provided.

No point pimping your ride if you haven't got the horsepower to handle the extra weight, lob in some extra yeast next time and see how it preforms

To be fair here I added 1100g of fermentables, the instructions said 1000g sugar. As DME is 80% fermentable that equals out
Ah apologies, I misread your initial post, I thought this was additional to the standard additions. Might be worth trying a branded yeast rather than the kit yeast, if they're suggesting a 23c ferm temp then I'd imagine its an ale yeast and 1004 seems a very low finish, I'm delighted if I hit 1006 with true lager strains but that could say more about my process than the yeasts ability.

I leave all my brews at least 10days, longer would be better but im impatient🤣, what was you SG? 1.040 give or take a bit? Yeast attenuation can vary but 80% seems to be common for kit yeasts, ive had a lot of coopers kits going from 1.040s down to 1.006-1.010
