I am FINALLY brewing again. Only the second time in 2014. :(

I'm brewing up a nice light Belgian Saison for the summer. I plan to use the yeast cake to then brew an imperial Saison for a festival in July. I want to give it plenty of time to age and mellow since it will be a high gravity beer.

Anyway, got my starter going last night. I'm using Wyeast 3711 the French Saison strain. That yeast will ferment water!

I will be bottling my kit lager, crash cooling the AG Irish Red Ale, making some more wooden beer boxes, and brewing a Hefeweizen.
All on Sunday.

No problem...

Busy weekend!

Would be interested to see your box design. I've been thinking about making some myself for presentation gifts, but haven't a clue where to start with the dimentions etc.

Doesn't count as brewing but my hand pull refurbishing kit arrived yesterday. Last night I took the hand pull apart and replaced all of the washers and seals. Looking forward to pulling a fresh pint tonight!

TBH, when your competing for a kitchen, weekend brewing is a dangerous game, much better is plan a week day, clean the kitchen (that'll go down well anytime) brew, clean again, cook dinner, get several brownie points and have an easy life.

Pjam, mouse and dogs body.

Double bottling session for me. Not brewing till next week.

I'll be Just checking the fermentation progress of an ESB I brewed on Wednesday, weekday brewing is great when you are between jobs :thumb:

To all those brewing this weekend have a great time, the weather looks set to be dry and warm(ish).

 :drink:

I hope to be doing my staple AG beer this Sunday, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone. I need to get myself sorted because I am ashamed to say I have all my corny kegs empty!

Enjoy your brew days hee haw for me to do. Play some football today then home watch the darts with some homebrew.

I'm going for a nice simple light dry-extract APA with columbus + lots of late and dry amarillo, fermented with US-05. Aiming for about 45 IBUs and around 5.2%.

Was going to steep some caraamber and medium crystal grains in it but the last pure extract (#2 in signature) turned out so well I'm going to do another.

Well it didn't happen I'm afraid. Too sunny and too much other stuff to do outside....
It's pee'd down since November so just had to catch up on outside jobs. Not to worry it will probably hammer down next weekend so I'll do a brew then

Didnt quite manage my weekend brewing. Can hopefully knock up tomorrow night though as only a quick extract brew. Bit concerned about temperature these next two weeks though, not sure I have anywhere that cool if we're hitting 20C outside.

Well my weekend didn't go to plan...
Couldn't brew because I realised I didn't have a spare fermenter free.
Couldn't make the beer boxes because the screws I bought are too long.
And couldn't crash cool the Irish Red Ale as I couldn't bottle the Lager due to my hangover!
