Saw a new 2019 water report was out for Anglian water so entered my postcode and it’s pretty much the same as the previous one. I thought I would do some tests anyway so I can make up water profiles for BeerSmith. Idea was I would do percentages of tap and RO making up to a litre and add CRS in amounts 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1ml per litre water. Get a guideline on how much I need to deal with the very high alkalinity I have (302 ppm CaCO3 from report). Just done the first test, litre of 100% tap and alkalinity is coming in at 125ppm. Now I’m confused. Anyone else in this region aware of any big changes like this or is my Salifert alkalinity kit telling me lies? Added 0.25ml of CRS and it went down to 68ppm. I’m assuming I’m doing something wrong but can’t think what.
