Afternoon,

I've not fined a beer in some time, well cold side at least. I'm not vegan personally but I have some guests imminent that are. And having just acquired a beer engine I promised to l them some cask ale as they very rarely get the chance to drink it. I've knocked up a American pale based on the proper job recipe and it tastes great with a nice bit of body (1.012
), so should be perfect from a beer engine.

Usually I keg and have time to crash chill, condition and keep very cold so I don't have hazy / cloudy beer too often, unless intentional. And even still I don't mind it. But for a cask beer I do think it looks better with some clarity.

I have brausol special which has worked in the past but normally keeping the keg at 2-4c. This one is gonna be at 11c. Any other options? I know Murphy's sell some but they look quite technical to use. I can crash this beer as it's still in the fridge but it'll be warmed back up to cask temps as soon as it's fined.

I’ve used these finings from Dark Rock Brewing for over a year. They work for me.

If you crash and then move to another vessel, won't that pull most of the bits out regardless of the serving temp?

I usually cold crash in my fv, then move to the serving keg and get pretty clear (though def not commercial grade!) beer.
