I don't have a separate HLT and boiler so drain my MT into an underback then lift and pour into the boiler when it's empty. Having used a solar pump for the first time on my last brew to recirculate and transfer the water to the MT I've decided to try and pump from the underback to the boiler. I know there are lots of pumps that can do this but I'm after something cheap and I found this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Whale-Cheap-C ... _680wt_952

It's used for drinking water in caravans so is food safe and rated up to 60c but I would think it can go a bit higher and it's cheap enough to experiment with.

I've used a Whale pump for a make shift shower when fishing in the 'back of beyond' in France and they don't take kindly to hot water (skin hot)..ie, they stop working...totally
