There will be a number of challenges set - filmed over the necessary time to brew and once completed would go out as a weekly show. Cannot give out any further information at this stage!

Intriguing...

Cool - that will certainly allay a few fears over time required to produce proper quality beer.

Of course. Thanks for the input - I'll be perfectly frank, I had serious doubts about the whole enterprise when I first saw it but now you've answered a few questions it seems a bit more in keeping with what we're all about. :thumb:

Any clues on when you would hope to get enough people on board to and start filming?

So after all that Hilarity did anyone actually email? I got contacted via Twitter and suggested they join JBK & THBF to look for a candidate.

Its so hard to tell from a Tweet whether the tweeter is for real, If taken at face value it should be good for Homebrewing if the right person with some brewing experience and nice kit makes it onto TV without Beard & Slippers!

Where would this be filmed? I'm half considering it although I'm only a novice compared to others around here.

Next question I have...
How long will the beer to have to condition?

James

I'd imagine it would have to be filmed in people's own breweries...?

I take that to mean that they film the prep/brew day/etc. then go and do something else for a couple of months before returning to do the next bit.

Hmm, I assumed the same. I think it's a cracking idea if its given a positive spin in a sense that it would be a plastic brewery (in my case) going up against the big uns.

To apply or not to apply...

They are likely to choose a range of people with different kit and levels of experience to make it interesting and to cover all aspects of homebrew.

They are likely going to send researchers out to meet possible candidates and their kit to decide who to film. There is always a selection process or audition process.

They will choose quirky and interesting people to engage with the audience. Imagine "come dine with me" for example. They choose people who are either a little crazy, attractive or opinionated because it makes for better viewing. It's all about ratings, Im making these assumptions because my mother worked in TV production for over 30 years.

This all sounds interesting but I will not be able to partisapate in it. I thought though seen as no-one has posted anything about Thinking Violets I thought I would link their WEBSITE and an article about the man behind it all

Maybe that will reassure some people questioning its legitimacy.
