Turbo Cider No Airlock

Was thinking about trying a basic turbo cider in a 5litre water bottle but don't have a bung and airlock. I could try and lash up something with tubing, but was wondering if I could do without and just release the CO2 periodically by cracking the screw top?

Ahh the old prison hooch method.

Should work though.
I would make a little hole in the lid then just bung it up with some cling film scrunched into a ball, will let pressure escape but should stop anything getting in.

Screw the cap on then back it off until its loose but still screwed on enough so it wont fall off that'll let the CO2 out and no bugs in.
