Little help...

I've one of these elbows:

Pretty sure a JG fitting would happily fit on the end 5/8... Is there any reason to think that the barbs may prevent a good connection for the beer line. Its for a counter pressure filler, so i don't have the luxury of just replacing the shank for the beer tower.

Otherwise i guess its a case of some bigger line and then a step down from there...

Almost certainly the thread on the shank is 5/8. Depends on what beer line you are using to what size is required. We almost exclusively use JG fittings instead of barbs, they are much more reliable. You can get two fittings, a straight in conjunction with an elbow, it allows the line to move which is handy when putting a tower together. It doesn't effect fobbing.
