I made the foolish mistake of chatting to the CEO about brewing and he got quite interested...

...we hatched a plan, for once I have a couple of AG brews under my belt, to produce a beer for a social in the spring time or early summer.

We are a small company with a global presence with our head office in the UK and regional offices in Australia and the US...

So I think I really have to brew a zingy pale being, I think, the style that is most accessible for those who aren't big ale fans, and also a style commonplace in all three countries.

And then I want to tripple hop it, obviously with hops from the UK, Australia and the US...

The reading I've done so far suggests that Galaxy is a lovely fruity thing with passionfruit and citrus, the American C's are also great for fruitiness...

I was thinking maybe an american C for aroma hops, Galaxy to dry hop and something british to provide the backbone bittering.

Does that sound like it'll work? It'll likely be a bit of a hop bomb but that's part of the plan, I need to go for a really contemporary style so as to appeal to everyone.

For the grain bill do I just run with that from something in Wheeler or Olloson?

Anyway, this will likely be BIAB #3 ish in a couple of months' time, I might even do a one-gallon mini-BIAB to test it...

...what do you reckon, is this going to be simple enough for a noob?

morning , sure why not once you have brewed this beer a few times , but i would keep the hops light as not every one likes hop bombs , i would keep the grain bill simple and use the best yeast you can get for the style (liquid) , so not too sweet and not too bitter otherwise you will only please some of the drinkers while keeping it in the middle you may please most drinkers .Well that's what i think

All good points there pittsy, thanks.

I'll likely do a bitter for #1 just to get my hand in then have a go at a batch of this...

Right then, been kicking stuff around in Beersmith and here's the plan for AG's #1 & #2.

1 is a pretty much like for like of Wheeler's Hookie Bitter but replacing the sugar with grain and made just a little more bitter...

2 is a really pale pale, not too heavy on the bittering and quite heavy on the aroma/dry hop for lots of fruitiness, this is of my own doing so please pick it apart!!! The three hops are for a reason, this is a practise batch for this beer for a work social, a hop from each country we operate in...

So do they look like a couple of sensible(ish) BIABs to get started with?
