Just made my first brew...however, my tin opener was obviously not sharpe enough and didn't work properly on one of the tins...I foolishly (and knew it to be stupid) tried forcing it open and predictably cut my thumb open deeeeeep! MAKE SURE YOU BUY A NEW TIN OPENER!!!
Now im typing without the use of my thumb.

Really hoping i havent ruined my first brew...I threw on a mass of plasters, dropped my tin opener in the mix, guessed on how much boiling water went in and then topped it up as quickly as poss before rushing off to the supermarket to buy more plasters!

so always use a sharpe tin opener!

Speak for yourself.

I got a paper cut this morning opening a pack of light spraymalt while putting together a starter.

I have also recently burned myself with spitting sugar solution while making candi sugar and scalded my fingertips when emptying a mashing bag onto the compost heap.
