thought i would post this
it's now tried and tested and did not get clogged
for the price of a bit of SS mesh

dis-mantlable too for easy cleaning

get the mesh tight around the hop trap base hold it tight with cable ties
crimp the other end tight around the tube near the top with mole grips or pliers
works a treat
:drink:

I wouldn't be so sure after using it a few good times . Even after cleaning it will harbour some bit of **** and as it needs to be super clean at bottling stage i wouldn't like to use that after a few months . Before boiling yes but not after .

You can boil the mesh just before use, as long as the plastic is off. Perhaps no worse than a hop sock when dry hopping in that case?

Planning to try something similar to get my cooled wort out of my untapped pair of pans on the next brew
