To secondary fv?

Will this make a difference? Im thinking of siphoning to reduce chance of sediment.

Also Id like to ask the same q in relation to bottling.

Cheers guys

I always siphon to secondary to reduce any chance of splashing when batch priming, then use the tap (with a little bottler attached) to transfer to bottle.

I suppose there isn't any reason why you couldn't use a tap with a tube attached to it to transfer to secondary though. As long as you eliminate any splashing.

If you use the tap to transfer the beer, use a longer piece of pipe ( one that reaches right down to the bottom of the receiving vessel ) Otherwise I cant see any problem.
In fact it might just be a touch safer as your not introducing anything extra ( like a syphon tube ) into the brew... and you would of course sterilised the pipe.

Good shout...

I always use a tap with a long hose which reaches the bottom to avoid splashing. Just make sure you sterilise the inside and out of the tube and give the tap a little squirt with steriliser, for good measure.

With regards to disturbing sediment trub and ale yeast usually compact quite well so you only usually pick up a little which is no big deal.
